Company History and Background
Founded: 1988
John Joe and his wife Veronica started their egg production business in 1988 with 300 laying hens, and delivered the eggs produced to local retail outlets in County Monaghan. In 1999, using the experience gained in producing quality free range eggs, they saw that the future market direction was in organic egg production. A new purpose built grading store & offices were erected. The small family run and owned business has grown significantly over this period, and now employs 15 members of staff. With all new developments came approval from Bord Bia, Department of Agriculture & Organic Trust. BRC Food Quality Standard is the most recent quality accreditation awarded to Connolly's Organic Eggs Ltd. Veronica and John Joe have over 25 years experience with the management of hens in an egg production environment and pride themselves in being the very first organic egg producer and packer in the whole of Ireland. In 2016, Connolly's acquired satellite producers for Free Range Corn Fed Eggs, this allows us to offer a more extensive product range to our customers .
